Known for its vast community and their reviews of the world’s hotels, restaurants, and attractions — Tripadvisor is the biggest travel website in the world.

As Tripadvisor began a new direction of pursuing direct-to-consumer, and subscription based opportunities, leaders asked me to explore subscription UX design for what would become core product Tripadvisor Plus. I also worked with the Reco team to design a travel itinerary publishing platform.

But perhaps my most favorite project at Tripadvisor was being one of the founding members to launch an email newsletter brand called The WeekEnder from Tripadvisor. With editions covering both New York, and Southern California areas, The WeekEnder is a departure from automated list-based email blasts. Bona fide travel journalists guide readers to drivable destinations through the lenses of local experts and business owners. With curated images, custom maps, and vibrant animated covers, The WeekEnder is like getting a premium travel magazine right in your inbox.
